Discussion:
Why are my PDF A4 pages the wrong size: 20.988 x 29.7 cm instead of 21 x 29.7 cm?

Hi folks,

I hope someone can answer this question for me: I've created a document in
Microsoft Publisher 2003 which is A4 sized (21 x 29.7 cm) but when I convert
it to PDF using Acrobat 6.0 Professional I end up with a document that is
sized 20.988 x 29.70 cm. Where have my missing 0.012cm gone?

I wouldn't mind so much but when I tell it to print two to a page (so I can
create A5 leaflets) I get lines across the top and bottom of the page. This
is driving me crazy!

(And when I went back to check other documents created with Acrobat 5.0.5
they too have created PDF pages that are 20.988 x 29.70 cm.

Most applications and drivers round page sizes to the nearest point
(1/72 inch). A point is 0.035 mm, so no page size will be accurate to
more than 0.018 cm.

Thanks for your explanation ... but how annoying! :)
