Hi,

I am looking for an SDK that can extract PDF pages efficiently from a
large linearized PDF file. As I understand it some files that are to
be split have one large array of pages rather than a balanced tree
structure.

Adobe PDF reader utilizes the linearization and runs very fast.
All Ghostscript based package and most others have taken long periods
of time to get the first page.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Murray

You may try the freeware command line tool:
http://thierry.schmit.free.fr/dev/mbtPdfAsm/enMbtPdfAsm2.html
from Thierry Schmit.

As fontend you may use BeCyPdfAsm, the best what is at time on the
freeware market for merging and also quick splitting:

Best regards, Reinhard

PS: If you download BeCyPdfAsm, do it also for BeCyPdfMetaEdit what is
on the same page.
